About the Role
We are seeking a Part-time Hotel Housekeeper for the Aikow Inn on St. George Island, to provide excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner. The Housekeeper will follow company standards of friendly hospitality while adhering to guidelines and procedures and is responsible for the cleanliness of guest rooms as well as the usage and organization of supplies. The ideal candidate will have character traits of honesty and trustworthiness and must pass the appropriate security clearance per company policy.
This position is fully onsite at the Aikow Inn in St. George Island, Alaska.
Responsibilities
Responsible for daily cleaning of dirty vacant rooms, ensuring they are guest ready, and returning occupied dirty rooms to a clean status within specified time and accuracy constraints.
Maintain a clean and orderly housekeeping cart.
Follow all cleaning procedures outlined in the housekeeping training with every assignment and as specified on the training checklist.
Assist in maintaining other areas of the hotel in a clean and orderly condition, (ex. restrooms, public areas, stairwells, and back of the house area).
Respond to guest requests and inquiries immediately.
Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and understand the safety and security needs of our guests and associates.
Maintain a crisp, clean and professional appearance daily adhering to grooming and uniform standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Experience and Skills
Previous experience in a similar position in lodging, housing, hospitals, and/or care facilities is helpful, but not mandatory.
Ability to follow guestroom cleaning procedures according to company standards.
Follow standards for sanitation of supplies, guestrooms, and public areas.
Adhere to handing procedures for linens, terry, and other supplies.
Report or correct any observed hazardous conditions immediately.
Maintain guest privacy.
Assist with guest issues, being professional and maintaining a hospitable caring attitude.
Must be able to work alone and as part of a team.
Ability to multi-task while remaining customer service centric.
Communicate with guests and co-workers in a friendly and helpful professional manner.
Maintain a flexible work schedule, available to work holidays and weekends as necessary.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Education and Training
High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
