Senior Construction Estimator

We are a busy, growing, General Contractor, specializing in commercial construction.

This is not a remote position, In Office Full Time, Located Huntington Station NY.

The Senior Estimator will essentially be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Lead and Oversee Estimation Processes: Manage and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance and support in day-to-day tasks and project assignments. Project Analysis: Thoroughly review and analyze project requirements, blueprints, and specifications to gain a deep understanding of project scope. Budget Preparation: Develop comprehensive budget estimates by studying construction plans, specifications, and market conditions. Cost Analysis: Accurately identify and evaluate factors impacting project costs, including materials, labor, and subcontractor services. Material and Labor Estimates: Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including material take-offs and labor estimates, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Vendor & Contractor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive bids and pricing. Bid Management: Oversee the collection, review, and evaluation of bids from vendors and contractors; utilize bid data to create precise cost analyses. Scheduling & Planning: Develop full Gantt-style project schedules using Microsoft Project, detailing timelines, critical paths, and dependencies to align with project goals. Presentation and Reporting: Compile, write, and present project budgets, detailed cost reports, and financial forecasts to management and stakeholders. Bid Calendar Management: Update and maintain the bid calendar to ensure timely submission of bids and proposals. Cost Tracking & Documentation: Track actual costs throughout the project lifecycle and compile data for future project estimates and benchmarking.

Qualifications:

Construction Estimating experience. Experience with Microsoft Projects Schedule Creator. Must be adept in working with Power Point. Minimum 5+ years G.C. estimating experience in the construction industry. Must be highly detail oriented. Ability to work quickly and efficiently. Proficient in MS Office Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel. Proficient in Building Connected. Knowledge of cost estimating software, plan swift, and blue beam. Ability to read and understand plans/blueprints.
