Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, including exams and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physicians' schedules.

Responsibilities

Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.

Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.

Obtain all necessary patient records as required by physicians prior to treatment or procedures.

Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.

Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.

Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physicians or nurses/pharmacists.

Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RNs.

Inform physicians of patient reschedules and no shows.

Perform other administrative duties, such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisors or physicians.

Essential Skills

Medical assisting

Taking vitals

EMR experience

Outpatient experience

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Current BCLS certification (required within 3 months of hire)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bilingual preferred (Spanish)

Customer service experience

Healthcare experience

High school graduate or equivalent

1-3 years experience as a medical assistant

Work Environment

The position is based in an oncology office with working hours from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The role involves duties for both the front and back office, providing a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
