Business Information Developer (Entry-Level Data Engineer - Operations Analytics)
Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and in office 1 - 2 days per week). Ideal candidates will live within 50 miles of one of our Pulse Point locations in Richmond, VA, Altamonte Springs, FL, Hanover, MD, St. Louis, MO or Roanoke, VA.
The Business Information Developer (Entry-Level Data Engineer - Operations Analytics) is responsible for assisting with the development and execution of data mining analyses to enhance reporting functionality and identify data relationships and patterns. This role uses cloud-based technology, extensive healthcare data, and individual/team ingenuity to improve the delivery of vital healthcare services for millions of Americans. The role is responsible for assisting with data import building, data modeling to enhance line-of-sight to and measurement of operational processes and identify new relationships and patterns within that same data.
How you will make an impact:
Programs and writes queries and reports.
Determines data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, and data integrity issues.
Supports new development of standardized reporting using the data warehouse and ad hoc reports.
Establishes connectivity to operations source systems and data repositories.
Conducts data discovery work to understand strengths, limitations, and opportunities within the currently available data.
Builds an increasingly comprehensive understanding of database design, data definitions, system capabilities, and data integrity issues.
Works with a diverse set of business partners in Operations, IT, etc. to understand their business needs and craft data-oriented solutions.
Develops standardized reporting using the data warehouse, in addition to ad hoc reports.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a BS/BA degree and related analytical experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
Experience presenting technical subject matters to non-technical audiences strongly preferred.
Experience in the maintenance of data processes and data quality strongly preferred.
Ability to learn new skills and subject matters (developing a network of knowledgeable contacts, assessing level of understanding and gaining new insights, documenting useful information for broader team's use, etc.) strongly preferred.
Ability to toggle effectively between several concurrent projects preferred.
Proficient in presenting team's work in various forums preferred.
Background in operations (pharmacy, contact center, manufacturing, print or digital communications, etc.) preferred.
Familiarity with Amazon RedShift, Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, DataBricks, Oracle, or equivalent database software preferred.
Familiarity with data import/ETL software (Microsoft SSIS, Informatica, Talend, or equivalent) preferred.
Some familiarity with Python programming for data manipulation tasks preferred.
PC, spreadsheet, and database skills preferred.
Standard Business Information tools and programming/query languages preferred.
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $75,180 - $122,770.
