Job Title: Cost Accountant Manager

(Training Onsite in Roselle, Primarily Work from Home After)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to manage all cost accounting responsibilities independently. This role involves compiling and analyzing cost data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and investigating gross margin discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, as well as proficiency in various accounting systems.

Responsibilities

Handle all cost accounting tasks independently.

Calculate and enter costs for new products into the system.

Compile end-of-month reports from Oracle and present them in Excel.

Generate gross margin reports, comparing costs against sales.

Conduct daily investigations into gross margins and identify influencing factors.

Gather information about costs including raw materials, labor, and overhead.

Perform analysis and report all inventory journal entries.

Explain margins through COGS, labor, and cost components.

Essential Skills

7+ years of cost accounting experience.

Proficiency in Bill of Materials (handling 500+ lines).

Experience working with 10,000+ raw materials.

Familiarity with Oracle legacy system, AS400, and MAS90.

Ability to investigate discrepancies in cost and gross margin.

Experience with monthly closing procedures and journal entries for inventory data.

Advanced Excel skills.

General ledger, month-end, and journal entry expertise.

Inventory accounting knowledge.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Business-related degree.

Experience in process and efficiency improvements.

Manufacturing experience.

Work Environment

The role is fully on-site in Roselle during the 90-day training period, then you have option to work fully remote. The position involves working independently, with a primary focus on spreadsheet-based tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $60.10/hr.
