Position Summary:

TheConstruction Superintendentis responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. This role involves coordinating subcontractors, managing site logistics, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining clear communication with project managers and stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. The Construction Superintendent plays a critical role in delivering high-quality projects while maintaining a safe and efficient worksite.

Essential Job Functions:

Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.

Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to maintain workflow efficiency.

Enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.

Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure proper execution.

Conduct daily site inspections and progress reports, identifying and resolving potential issues.

Monitor labor and material costs, preventing overruns and optimizing resource use.

Lead on-site meetings with contractors, inspectors, and project teams to ensure alignment.

Ensure all permits, licenses, and inspections are up to date and in compliance with regulations.

Train and mentor site staff and laborers to maintain high performance and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

Certifications/Licensures:

Licensure, certification, and/or training relevant to the position preferred;

A valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance is required.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in architectural design and/or knowledge of architectural design and engineering for the construction industry or an equivalent combination of technical training and experiencepreferred;

High school diploma or equivalent isrequired

Experience and Competencies:

At least 3+ years' experience in a comparable role required;

Ability to lead and also be part of the team required;

Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion required;

Knowledge of building, fire, and safety codes and regulations required;

Ability to review and determine maintenance necessary to maintain safe facilities required;

Ability to be aware of and adhere to specific timeframes and time limitations required;

The ability to conceptualize Quality Improvement Plans and put them into operation required;

Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality required;

Knowledge of architectural and engineering required;

Working Conditions:

Possible exposure to fumes, dust, wet/damp surfaces, and extreme hot and cold conditions;

Possible need to climb ladders, work on uneven terrain, and inspect and work in confined spaces;

Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals;

Extensive travel - local, regional, and out-of-state including overnight stays;

A minimum of 40 hours per week are expected but significantly more hours will be required from time to time. Completion of job duties may require working before and after normal working hours. Regular attendance is required. Being able to work as many hours as is necessary to complete job tasks is a required and essential duty of this position.
