The role you'll contribute:
The Manager of Supply Chain is accountable for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination, and integration of a facility and/or hospital campus' supply chain operations. These primary functions are performed to support all departments and service lines including Surgery, Central, Nursing, Diagnostic and other Procedural, and Ancillary areas. This position directs multi-functional teams that provide efficient logistics and supply support, equipment and materials used throughout the facilities. The Manager maintains and enhances continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities under the direction of FH System Leadership. This position oversees the daily operations within all related Support Teams while providing leadership to develop staff and department leaders. This role has budgetary and fiscal support accountability for the campus supply and related expenses. This position is also responsible for handling projects and initiatives assigned with variations of scope and complexity. Responsibilities to include management of perpetual and periodic supply inventories, shared responsibility of setting overall supply and labor budgets, coordinating capital requests and purchases with Finance and other departments. Routinely performs supply-cost analysis, meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and reconcile accuracy of patient billing and/or supply charges for the departments. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining working relationships with physicians/surgeons, administrators, executives, department directors, clinicians and staff and are equally respectful to all.

· Appropriately and effectively manages the Supply Chain Department(s) and the teams that supports the supply chain and materials management roles. Builds capabilities by coaching, developing, evaluating and mentoring others
· Ensures staffing is effective and efficient and promotes core values. Assures that staff is representative of the population diversity through oversight of recruitment, selection and retention of personnel. Ensures that staff are actively engaged in decisions within their scope of practice
· Provides full Supply Chain support for all Surgical, Diagnostic, and other Procedural Areas, to include general supplies (consignment, stock, and non-stock inventory), core areas and if required the surgical suites. Support procedural/surgical case picking, periodic inventory management, maintenance of surgeon's preference cards, and SurgiNet item locators and other attributes
· Manage Central Supply's inventory, staff, code-cart trays, incoming/outgoing calls, item requests, billing & IDTs and delivery functions as required
· Provides the education, training and resources needed for the team to perform its duties as required. Ensures that the staff adhere to the System and hospital's policies and procedures, and the standards of all accrediting and legal bodies
· Manages and oversees patient charging functions of supplies. Ensures that department item catalog maintenance is maintained. Performs audits to ensure these charges are captured. Resolves issues related to incorrect charges in a timely manner. Ensures timely entry of patient charges
· Responsible for ensuring the maintenance of unit price file information and update of departmental charge sheets, working with the management team on price file issues, and cost-per-case analysis. Performs audits to ensure charges are captured. Resolves issues related to incorrect charges in a timely manner. Ensures timely entry of charges.
· Maintains high standards and quality in the facilitation of cost savings and containment. Meets with Leadership and department managers to review monthly budget cost analysis and supply requests.
· Oversee daily operations as defined. Evaluate existing and on-going processes for systematic methodologies and effectiveness. Ensure team directives and policies are fully deployed and adhered to
· Ensures the continuous implementation of process improvement in supply chain initiatives for the facility(ies). Works closely with FH System Materials Management for strategy, to implement system initiatives, and to ensure compliance
· Oversees capital purchases, rentals and equipment purchases/rentals. Provides tracking documentation for purchases, rentals, repairs and loaners per guidelines as needed.
· Responsible for supporting, defending and making measurable efforts to exceed budgetary expectations for all applicable cost centers assigned
· Responsible for financial reports and cost analysis for areas of responsibility. Prepares appropriate financial materials and supporting documentation required internally or externally to assist with supply chain decision-making. Creates ad hoc reports providing operating cost details
· Maintains high-standards and quality in the facilitation of cost savings and containment
· Meets with campus Leadership and department managers to review monthly budget cost analysis and supply requests
· Ensures the facility's supplies have appropriate item and price file numbers. Acts as a liaison between departments regarding order, cost center discrepancies, and various materials management issues
· Promotes a safe environment. Takes appropriate action in emergency situations, is aware of and controls hazards that may endanger patients, visitors and employees, and identifies and reports environmental concerns to the management team. Ensures adherence to appropriate regulatory standards and Florida Hospital policies and procedures
· Actively participate in community volunteer opportunities where possible
· Support System initiatives related to fund raisers, logistical and any other support.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:**
Strong organization skills
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of Florida Hospital staff
Proficient with spreadsheets, presentations, and general computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.
Business and human resources skills as they relate to assigned area(s) of responsibility

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED :
· Working knowledge of Barcode and/or Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) supply processing in supported areas
· Knowledge of and ability to navigate the hospital's Materials Management Information Systems ERP, a Point-of-Use system(s), Other systems to include - SurgiNet, Apollo, package tracking, and Intranet
· Current knowledge of medical supply terminology
· Knowledge of Inventory Control concepts, Par Optimization and Par Management
· Knowledge of Charge Master concepts and systems
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Accounting, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Administration or related field AND
· Three years of Materials Management experience and one year of supervisory or management experience
OR
· Five years in a Materials or Supply Chain related role and three years of supervisory or management experience
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED :
· Experience in Lean (Six Sigma) Process Improvement methodologies and application within supply chain management
