The Finance Cost Analyst supports the strategic and operational goals of Oshkosh Aerotech through financial analysis, cost accounting, and reporting. This role focuses on cost control, inventory management, manufacturing cost forecasting, and internal controls, while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards and internal control requirements. The position will be involved in monthly analysis, forecasting and annual budgeting process.
YOUR IMPACT
Perform general cost accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes in compliance with the Corporate Accounting Policies and Procedures (CAPP) manual and internal control frameworks
Lead monthly costs forecasting, annual cost budgeting, and standard cost updates, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Analyze manufacturing and operational variances; identify cost-saving and pricing opportunities and support "Make vs. Buy" decisions and appropriation request for capital projects
Prepare and provide supporting documentation and analysis for internal and external audits, acting as a key point of contact for auditors.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement to enhance cost efficiency and transparency, performance tracking, forecasting, and control
Assist in the management and administration of business systems and procedures; perform testing and update Sarbanes-Oxley process documentation for changes affecting internal controls
Champion the Oshkosh "People First" competencies to engage, develop, and connect team members
Identify and support continuous improvement projects while leveraging the Oshkosh CIMS tools and concepts
Provide ad hoc reporting and financial insights as needed by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of relevant experience (or internship experience at Oshkosh Corporation)
Willingness to travel up to 10%
Strong collaboration skills in diverse environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CPA, CMA, or related professional certification
Experience in manufacturing cost accounting or Big 4 audit
Strong knowledge of SOX, GAAP, and cost accounting standards
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
Deep understanding of standard costing, activity-based costing (ABC), and job order/process costing
Solid experience in inventory management, including E&O analysis, cycle count programs, and physical inventory process implementation
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, JD Edwards, Infor Syteline, etc)
Advanced Excel and SQL skills; experience with Power BI/Tableau; hands-on experience of Blackline tool
Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial insights to stakeholders
Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or cost-reduction initiatives
Pay Range:
$63,500.00 - $101,700.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
