Job Title: Nurse ManagerJob Description

The role is for a Medical Surgical Manager of Nurse (RN) who will serve as a clinical leader responsible for the education, operations, and management of the department. This position involves working closely with the Director to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations, including staff assignments, coordination of care, resolving issues, and maintaining compliance with standards.

Assist the Director with new nurse residents, nurse fellowship programs, international nurse education, and competency validation.

Participate in hiring, orientation, coaching, and annual performance reviews for nursing staff.

Engage in patient rounding and service recovery to ensure patient satisfaction and quality care.

Develop relationships with other departments and nursing leadership to ensure consistent care delivery.

Essential Skills

RN required

Minimum of three (3) years RN experience

Minimum one (1) year Med/Surg management or supervisory experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

MSN or MA in Nursing or enrolled and graduating within 2 years from hire preferred

2-3 years of manager experience requested

Nationally certified RN in clinical or nursing leadership preferred

Three (3) years' experience as a Med/Surg Educator preferred

Clinical educator experience

Work Environment

The role is a day shift position, 8 hours per day for 5 days a week, with a schedule of 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Alternatively, an evening shift of 8 hours per day for 5 days a week, with a schedule of 2 PM to 10 PM, is available. The position is salary exempt and may require checking on night shifts or weekends as needed for team oversight. The work environment is in a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU. The Med Surge unit comprises two floors, one medical and one orthopedic, each with 23 private rooms. The normal staffing ratio is 1:6, including nursing assistants, unit secretaries, and a charge nurse. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
