This is a highly visible and impactful role that will drive performance and play a financial leadership role for the CoreCivic Safety (http://www.corecivic.com/safety) portfolio. You will partner with Operational and Executive leadership as a business partner to help lead financial decision making regarding a wide range of operationally focused projects with CoreCivic nationwide (http://www.corecivic.com/facilities) .
This position is hybrid, 3-days per week in office. You must live or be willing to move to the Nashville area for this position.
We are searching for an organized and business oriented financial partner with a blend of quantitative and qualitative problem solving skills to own the alignment process between Finance and Operations. Financial modeling and forecasting, gathering data analytics, providing decision support presentations, business intelligence reporting, trend analyses, and the ability to navigate interpersonal relationships are all equally important in this position. You will identify financial bottlenecks, recognize opportunities for process improvement at the root cause, and can use financial analytics to impact them, then this could be the career opportunity for you. This role will lead a variety of projects, internal data audits, staffing pattern & budget reviews, as well as develop and present detailed summaries and analysis to senior management as needed. This position will also support the operations executive leadership team by providing recommendations, based on the data and results of these projects, with which to execute new and innovative business initiatives which support key financial performance indicators, pricing models, and cash flow streams.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Director, Operations Finance serves as the financial leader on the Business Unit ("BU") leadership team working collaboratively to develop, implement and monitor financial and operational strategies. Directs the financial operations of their assigned BU, ensuring fiscal soundness and discipline of the facilities. Provides financial oversight and analytical support by ensuring the development of achievable budgets, analyzing financial performance, monitoring variances, identifying trends, performing statistical analyses, creating and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate root cause analysis, recommending necessary actions and developing and overseeing plans to optimize performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serves as the financial leader of the assigned BU working in coordination with Operations leadership; participates as a key decision-maker as part of the BU leadership team.
Ensures that the organization remains focused on performance against approved budgets, and works closely with Operations leadership to develop performance improvement plans when needed.
Analyzes, discusses and makes recommendations, with facility management teams and business unit leadership, regarding the financial impact of proposed operational changes. Drives accountability to action plans committed to by Operations leadership.
Coaches business office staff and facility leadership on how to effectively manage P&L responsibility while maintaining operational excellence. Develops and enhances the financial skills of operations leaders through training, individual coaching, and other means.
Leads annual budget development and review process for the assigned BUs and Divisions that provide accurate and realistic goals and against which operating performance can be reported and evaluated.
Manages the capital request, budgeting and approval process for assigned BU.
Proactively identifies trends in financial results through the analysis of trends, performance relative to budget, progress toward operational efficiency plans on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Guides operational financial performance by proactively analyzing results and trends, monitoring variances, creating and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate root cause analysis, and implementing actions to improve and optimize performance.
Guides cost analysis process by understanding and enforcing policies and procedures, providing trends and forecasts, and explaining processes and techniques.
Recruits, advises, and develops facility-level financial staff. Directs members of the business office in establishing, modifying, documenting and coordinating the implementation of financial, accounting and administrative procedures.
Ensures internal and operational controls for facilities are consistently monitored, and accurate and timely financial data is provided in accordance with accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, procedures and best practices.
Determines resource allocation needs and endures necessary financial support to facilities that have financial leadership vacancies.
Provides project management and administrative oversight as necessary to achieve the strategic objectives of operations.
Actively involved in the creation, review, approval of all financial models for start-ups and acquisitions within the Business Unit.
Supports due diligence and integration activities related to M&A working collaboratively with Strategic Development Department.
Coordinates the development of presentation packages and makes verbal presentations to executive management for decision-making purposes.
Domestic U.S. travel required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
Bachelor's degree , from an accredited college or university
Seven years of relevant business experience
Strong analytical, research and financial modeling skills
Detail-oriented and proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proactive and highly organized with a demonstrated track record of achieving results independently and in a team environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
Experience managing data from multiple sources with a diverse set of data tools
Valid driver's license
Minimum Age Requirement: 18 Years of Age
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's or Master's level study in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or a related field
CPA, Audit, Financial Analysis or related professional credential
5+ years of recent position related experience with responsibility over the financial performance of large, geographically dispersed facilities
3+ years of developing and managing budgets and P&L's
2+ years of project leadership experience
Deep experience pulling, analyzing, and reporting on disparate data from a variety of systems and sources in order to identify root cause issues, address trends, and solve issues.
Advanced proficiency with MS Excel
Ability and willingness to travel nationwide approximately 25-50% of the time
