Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Medical Support Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth patient check-in and check-out processes, maintaining accurate patient records, and supporting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality care. The Medical Support Specialist will assist with patient rooming, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks, appointment scheduling, and chart management.

Responsibilities:

Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and conducting basic medical tests and procedures.

Set up instruments and equipment according to departmental guidelines and ensure exam/procedure rooms are cleaned and restocked to maintain infection control standards.

Greet patients, assist with check-in procedures, and gather necessary medical history and insurance information.

Prepare the clinic for daily operations by reviewing the facility, opening system applications, and preparing new patient registration packets and required documents.

Respond promptly to patient inquiries, assist with follow-up appointments, and fulfill medical documentation requests.

Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and provide general patient information.

Complete end-of-day procedures, including preparing closing documentation and submitting required reports.

Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of patient records, including electronic health records (EHR) and paper files.

Oversee medical supplies and equipment, ensuring appropriate stock levels and proper storage.

Coordinate maintenance and repairs for medical equipment as needed.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical Assistant Certificate.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; CPR certification preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Strong phone etiquette and communication skills.

Previous medical office experience preferred.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Biology majors or Pre-RN candidates preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $46800.00/yr.
