Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Advanced Manufacturing for Monarch, the Senior External Manufacturing Manager is expected to lead the external manufacturing operations for the Monarch Portfolio. This role requires a collaboration with key stakeholders within the business to execute. The Senior Manager will be responsible for implementing the strategic initiatives including start-up, validation, stabilization and ramp-up for products produced at External Manufacturers. He/she will plan and direct the organization's activities and deliver against targets for financial performance, quality, and service and compliance adherence. Critical responsibilities include managing the manufacturing operations of contract suppliers to ensure that products are available to meet customer needs. The position must shape, connect and lead resources to deliver on key projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Engagement: Maintain close engagement with business leaders to understand and address cross functional needs and contribute to both tactical and long-term strategic vision. Owner of communication governance with External Manufacturers.
Continuous Improvement: Lead and operate effectively within an agile and dynamic environment, adapting to continuous changes to improve business processes and outcomes.
Executive Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage and influence decisions by communicating key insights to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives across the Monarch Platform
Drive operational efficiency: Ensure sustainable business practices while fostering a sense of urgency. Leadership experience in oversee profit and loss (P&L) of projects, managing budgets to optimize business performance
Provides overall site management; Serves as a point of escalation for issues; Proactively and independently manages all External Operation activities. Ensures proper quality compliance is met
Monitor performance, develop and lead regular performance reviews (S&OP, CIP execution, QBR, Planning, Quality reviews, etc.), oversee product tech transfers and decommissioning of sites, engage suppliers in lean process improvements and manage operations via virtual plant management.
Drive the External Manufacturing Strategy, partner with Integration team and suppliers to drive network efficiencies in alignment with global EM vision.
Perform analysis of investments required to support recurring cost reductions and business growth for supplier sites.
Execute the vision, strategy and implementation plan that will effectively meet the long-range requirements of the business partners and deliver the maximum value for J&J
Ensures documentation, training, configuration, testing, production promotions, archiving, and so on are in compliance with business and regulatory policies
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
Develop Ops Plans (incl. budget, volume planning, etc.) with EM sites; Ensure alignment on the outcomes and financial management with key internal partners;
Identify potential Quality/Regulatory, Technical and/or Supply Chain challenges. Lead and drive problem solving on challenges with key internal stakeholders and EM sites to resolve.
Dynamic people management and leadership :Ability to manage and lead both in-person and remote work team
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required with a degree in Engineering or other Science background preferred. Advanced degree is preferred
A minimum of 8 years of operations and supply chain experience
Strong leadership, communication, influencing and collaboration skills
Able to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives when necessary
Ability to show judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues
Ability to show strategic thinking
Strong project management skills
Strong business acumen
Experience in GMP environment is highly preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information
Ability to continuously improve the organization
Practical, first-hand experience in successfully applying Lean tools, including but not limited to Just in Time (JIT), 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping, to create value-improvement gains is required.
Ability to travel up to 20% domestic and international
The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$138,000 - $238,050
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
