Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

This position requires proficiency in various warehouse operations such as receiving, sorting, staging, replenishment, putaway, picking, packing, cycle counting, and shipping. You will be responsible for performing these functions within the SAP and Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring high productivity and quality. The role also involves coaching other team members and operating various material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

Determine daily work schedule via work board instructions and supervisor direction.

Perform equipment inspection and complete proper documentation before operating equipment.

Unload shipments from trucks using forklifts or pallet jacks, and sort them based on product or ship ID numbers.

Perform a 3-way match to validate product part numbers and quantities with purchase orders and packing lists.

Input accurate data into SAP and WMS.

Transport pallets using forklifts or reach trucks to designated storage and staging locations.

Identify discrepancies and resolve them using paperwork and WMS.

Replenish products by scanning containers and transporting them to the correct storage location.

Pick inventory using RF guns and prepare for shipping according to company guidelines.

Consolidate pallets for multiple orders to reduce shipping costs.

Ensure shipments are properly packed and loaded onto trucks.

Participate in daily cycle counting to maintain inventory accuracy.

Maintain individual process performance and strive to reduce order throughput time.

Ensure facility and equipment are well-maintained and clean.

Proactively identify and communicate potential problems to supervisors.

Ensure high-quality pallets and accurate labeling.

Assist team members and perform other duties as required.

Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to 5S activities.

Travel up to 10% of the time.

Essential Skills

Accurate counting and math skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, SAP, and warehouse management systems.

Proper lifting techniques and ability to lift 50 pounds or more.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.

Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

3+ years of warehouse experience.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience with SAP Receiving and cycle counting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Certification in material handling equipment.

5S and Lean experience preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a distribution center that is part of a larger plastics production plant. Most areas are climate-controlled, except for the distribution center and extrusion areas. The role involves manual labor and is labor-intensive, requiring packaging boxes and order picking.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mcpherson, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
