ModMed (https://www.modmed.com/company/) is hiring a driven Manager, Accounting to join our positive, passionate, and high-performing Accounting team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced Healthcare IT company that is truly Modernizing Medicine!
Your Role:
Manage, review, and validate work performed by Staff Accountants and/or Senior Accountants on a daily basis.
Preparation and review of journal entries for significant risk accounting areas.
Manage the monthly close process, including review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce timely and accurate financial statements and reporting.
Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements.
Assist with the annual financial statement audit, and quarterly reviews as necessary.
Ensure compliance with existing company policies and procedures, and implement new ones as needed.
Mentor and lead staff by providing guidance, support, and training.
Manage multiple projects as directed by management.
Perform other Accounting, Finance, and Operational duties as directed.
Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
Masters degree in Accounting preferred.
Minimum of 6 years of Public Accounting and/or Corporate Accounting experience.
Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role, over a team.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, understanding of ASC 606 and its practical application in a business environment.
Organized and strong attention to detail with an ability to simultaneously research discrepancies and solve problems.
Ability to work independently with general direction and guidance, and be proactive.
Ability to prioritize and multitask in an ever-changing environment.
Experience working in the Technology industry (e.g., software, cloud providers) preferred.
Ability to work effectively across multiple groups.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel: pivot tables, v-lookups, and macros.
Effective communicator with great verbal and written communication skills.
CPA or equivalent certification is a strong plus.
Experience with NetSuite is a strong plus.
Experience with Zone is a strong plus.
Experience with Salesforce is a strong plus.
Experience in SAAS revenue accounting is a strong plus.
