Attorney 1 - $27.08 hr / $2,166.40 bi-weekly
Attorney 2 - $28.98 hr / $2,318.40 bi-weekly
Attorney 3 - $32.02 hr / $2,561.60 bi-weekly
Attorney 4 - $34.26 hr / $2,740.80 bi-weekly
This position comes with a Premium Pay Rateof up to $2.00 per hour as follows for hours worked only and based on years of service at the Louisiana Department of Health-Office of the Secretary within job titles, Attorney 1 - 4:
0 months to less than 2 years - $1.00/hour
2 years to less than 4 years - $1.50/hour
4 years or greater - $2.00/hour

Examples of Work
Incumbent serves as an attorney to the State of Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) in a highly responsible legal, consultative, administrative capacity as an attorney in the Bureau of Legal Services, at headquarters, providing legal support services to the Office of Management and Finance. Incumbent services as specialized legal counsel within the LDH Bureau of Legal Services section and to the Office of Management and Finance on legal matters/issues/litigation relating to areas of federal and state law pertaining to Medicaid and the Office of Management and Finance. Specifically, incumbent provides highly technical legal advice, assistance, and consultation to the following programs/offices within LDH: (1) Medicaid Financial Eligibility; (2) Medicaid Financial Eligibility Appeals and (3) Medicaid Unwind. Incumbent will work extensively with program staff of the Medicaid Program. Incumbent will assist with special litigation projects involving state or federal Medicaid issues and litigation projects of Department-wide impact or significance. This position serves in a legal, consultative, and administrative capacity within the Bureau of Legal Services.
