Description We are in search of an Accounting Assistant to join our ranks at our Plymouth, New Hampshire location. As an integral part of our team, you will be called upon to manage account reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and support the accounting team in various functions. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

Undertake detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and liabilities.

Address discrepancies, errors, or variances in account balances, ensuring they are thoroughly investigated and resolved.

Collaborate effectively with the accounting team to identify and rectify misclassified transactions.

Support in clearing outstanding reconciling items and ensure all supporting documentation is maintained accurately.

Uphold accurate audit trails and supporting records for all reconciliation adjustments.

Work closely with other departments to gather necessary information for reconciliation purposes.

Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities by ensuring all balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled.

Assist in the enhancement of processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in account reconciliations.

Adhere strictly to internal controls and compliance standards related to financial reporting. Requirements - Position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role.

Proficiency in a range of accounting functions is essential.

Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations is required.

Experience with balance sheets is a must.

Balance sheet reconciliation skills are a necessity.
