Department Introduction:
Mail & Package Services (MPS) is a group within Land, Buildings & Real Estate (LBRE) that is responsible for the mail & package programs for Stanford University students. MPS also manages interdepartmental mail, mail codes, and is working towards creating a centralized mail & package program for the rest of Stanford.
Job Purpose:
The Warehouse Manager will oversee daily operations within the Stanford University Newark Warehouse. Core responsibilities include receiving packages from carriers such as UPS, FedEx and Amazon, processing the packages through Stanford's conveyor belt system, labeling and ensuring timely delivery to the Stanford campus. This is an on-site role requiring the Warehouse Manager to report to the warehouse five days a week.
This position is located at the Stanford University Newark Warehouse in Newark, CA (Alameda County).
Core Duties*:
Supervise Warehouse Operations:
Supervise, lead and coordinate daily activities of warehouse staff and delivery drivers and carriers.
Ensure compliance with safety standards.
Work with our conveyor vendor to maintain optimal equipment conditions and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs.
Oversee maintenance of vehicles, including forklifts, and all warehouse equipment.
Responsible for overseeing all construction, renovation or repairs at the Newark warehouse.
Staff Management:
Train, and develop warehouse contracted personnel.
Inventory Management:
Oversee all Stanford packages at the warehouse, ensuring they are tracked and delivered to the end users or returned to the sender in a timely manner.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process enhancements to increase efficiency.
Develop and implement best practices for warehouse operations.
Continuously monitor and find opportunities to maintain safety operations.
Logistics Coordination:
Manage inbound and outbound shipments.
Work with suppliers and the Stanford MPS team to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and warehouse performance.
Generate reports for management on warehouse metrics.

Education & Experience:
A combination of education, training and experience performing responsibilities similar to those listed above. Bachelor's degree, preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
5-10 years' experience in warehouse management and logistics.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in warehouse management software.
Ability to coordinate daily activities including work scheduling, quality assurance, program validation, monitoring of maintenance activities, and supervision of personnel.
Demonstrated experience working with subcontractors/vendors and demonstrated ability to monitor project activities and ensure compliance with internal/external regulations.
Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting policies.
Knowledge of environmental and safety rules, regulations, and policies. Ability to conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions and communicate those instructions to others.
Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid California non-commercial Class C Driver's License.
Must possess and maintain a valid forklift certification.
Physical Requirements*:
Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class C Driver's License.
Ability to drive day or night.
Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift certification.
Ability to lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 50 pounds.
Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.

Requires 24-hour response availability seven days per week for emergency situations.
May be exposed to noise > 80dB TWA.

The expected pay range for this position is $108,145.00 to $127,502.00 per annum.
