Our client, in Sacramento is seeking a Accounting Tech to join their team. As a Accounting Tech you will be part of the Housing Redevelopment Agency. The ideal candidate will have an AA Degree, plus 2-4 years of Accounting, Accounting principles, data processing and financial record keeping experience which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Sacramento

Pay Range: $22.75/hr

What's the Job?

Role Overview: Seeking a team-oriented Accounting Technician to handle technical and professional accounting tasks, including analysis, interpretation, recording, and reporting of financial transactions.

Responsibilities: Prepare weekly check runs for federal programs, reconcile accounts, update the fixed asset system, assist accountants, process accounts payable claims, and handle payroll and tax deposits.

Education & Experience: Preferably an AA degree with 2 years of related experience or 4 years of related experience with a High School Diploma/GED. Minimum 2 years of experience in clerical accounting, accounting principles, data processing, and financial record keeping.

Financial Duties: Examine financial documents for accuracy, conduct research, draft accounting procedures, prepare journal entries, and reconcile accounts and projects.

Clerical/Administrative Tasks: Respond to correspondence, update journal entries, process accounts payable claims, provide customer service, and assist in internal operations and financial audits.

Specialized Areas: Handle Section 8 program audits, prepare HUD budgets, manage loans, update banking systems, process payroll, and maintain cash flow and fixed asset systems.

What's Needed?

Education: AA degree plus 2 years of related experience preferred, or 4 years of related experience with a High School Diploma/GED.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in clerical accounting, accounting principles, data processing, and financial record keeping.

Skills: Proficiency in examining financial documents, conducting research, drafting accounting procedures, and preparing journal entries.

Technical Abilities: Ability to update and maintain financial systems, process accounts payable claims, and handle payroll and tax deposits.

Customer Service: Strong communication skills to provide internal and external customer service and assist in internal operations and financial audits.
