Law firm of Zimmerman and Wallace is seeking a legal assistant/paralegal to join our team.The successful applicant will be able to:

Demonstrate a knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe

Show experience in a professional office setting familiar with general office procedures including record keeping, English composition, spelling, grammar and proper sentence structure, and operation of office equipment

Perform work in an accurate, orderly, timely, and professional manner

Maintain confidentiality of information

Prioritize tasks and function well under deadlines

Communicate in a clear, courteous and professional manner, both verbally and in writing

Drop Box and Zoom conference familiarity preferred

Gather and analyze information (depending on experience)

Job Duties:

Draft, proofread, format, and edit correspondence, pleadings, discovery responses, and other legal documents

Draft correspondence and communicate with attorneys and client contacts

Schedule appointments, depositions, meetings; maintain calendars; set up conference calls

File pleadings in state and federal courts in many different venues, as well as in agency proceedings

Open new client matters and initiate conflict checks

Track and calendar internal and litigation deadlines

Experience as a legal assistant or paralegal is preferred. Applicant need not have experience with all typical duties noted. We are willing to train the right applicant if their writing, organization, and time management skills are strong.
