The Junior Staff Accountant is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and procedures to prepare accurate and timely financial entries and reconciliation of financial information. The position works directly with all departments of the organization to ensure that financial transactions are accurate.

Roles & Responsibilities

Accounts receivable, cash entries, cancelations, collections.

Back up for accounts payable, assist with coding accounts payable to the correct P&L accounts.

Assist with reconciling goods returns and vendor statements.

Posting credit card payments from purchasing, reconciling credit card statements.

Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations with appropriate support.

Analyze general ledger accounts and trends.

Prepare journal entries; maintain and reconcile detailed ledger accounts for monthly financial close, meeting reporting deadlines.

Assist with WLT reports for missing timecards.

Liaise with various departments throughout the organization

Assist Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with ad hoc analysis and projects.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline. One - two years' experience.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong problem-solving, analysis skills and attention to detail

Proficiency in accounts receivable processes.

Good interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships.

Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills

Self-motivated individual, who works independently and requires little supervision

Ability to independently prioritize and complete tasks in a structured manner

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP

Wilcox is a U.S. government defense contractor, and this position requires access to export-controlled technology. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access U.S. government-controlled technology prior to beginning work.

Regular on-site attendance is a necessary function of this position.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear; use hands and fingers to handle and touch objects, tools, or controls to work in a production environment. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus to work. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
