Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research is looking to fill our Repair Technician role in our electronics department. In this position you will be involved in diagnosing and resolving issues related to the electrical and electronic components of the test frame systems, such as fracture, tensile and stress testing equipment. This involves diagnosing malfunctions, troubleshooting, repairing/replacing components, calibrating equipment, and software analysis. These systems rely on electronics for precise control, data acquisition, and accurate testing. This is a great opportunity for motivated individuals who want a chance to work in a fast-paced environment and utilize their skills, all within the Latrobe/Youngstown, PA area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Installs and troubleshoots problems with single phase and 3 phase motors

Installs, maintains, and repairs electronic components, circuit boards, sensors, or amplifiers

Reads technical diagrams, blueprints, electronic and electrical schematics

Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, and calibrations

Troubleshoots electronic issues using the appropriate testing device

Assists in developing long-term solutions for all equipment and facility issues

Adheres to safety practices and policies to create a safety-first culture

Performs other duties and tasks as assigned

Requirements and Skills:

US Citizenship

Valid Driver's license

Willing to work partial Saturday hours

Associate degree in a related field recommended

Preferred 1-5 years' experience in electronic repairs

Understanding and knowledge of hydraulics and electronic controls preferred

Proficient computer skills

Mechanical aptitude

Proficient in Math

Ability to adapt to changing work environments

Ability to prioritize and multi-task

Strong attention to detail

Strong organizational skills

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds

Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel
