Position Summary:

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturers instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.Qualified Technicians must be able to demonstrate a strong aptitude for troubleshooting equipment while also following strict OEM preventive maintenance techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair all capital equipment. Monitor and complete preventive maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic equipment, including injection molding machines, extrusion machines, air compressors, HVAC, fire suppression, and alarm systems. Respond, troubleshoot, and perform emergency repair work on manufacturing equipment promptly based on priority established by production management. Understand PLC Lader programs and components like I/O, timer, counter, loop, jump. Install and troubleshoot VFD/Drives 240 V and 480V, including wiring and programming (IP Addressing, CCW Parameters) Understand the hydraulic schematic for troubleshooting and identifying components in the field. Blueprints: sizes, tolerances, units (inches and mm), measurements, and identify multiple fasteners. Understand how to use precision tools: torque, mic and calipers, and dial indicators. Disassembly/assembly medium mechanical precision (components tolerances within 0.002 - 0.015). bearings (radial and thrust loads), seals, glands, lubrication, fittings, subassembly/attachments, pumps, conveyors, valves, fans, motors, alternators, ovens, cutters, presses, tanks, paint lines, cranes, including shaft alignment, belt/chain tensions, equipment testing/release. Welding MIG and stick, to make a safe repair in hydraulic lines and machinery. TIG and Flux-Cored, occasionally welding enough to make a safe repair in hydraulic lines and machinery in general. Fabricate or modify parts using lathe, tree drill, milling Machine, power saw, withing 0.0001 to 0.002 Install and troubleshoot on field medium mechanical precision: rollers, sheaves and sprockets, belt/chain/coupling for power transmission, pumps, conveyors, valves, fans, motors, alternators, ovens, cutters, presses, tanks, paint lines, cranes, including shaft alignment, belt/chain tension, equipment testing/release.

Qualifications: Knowledge of injection molding process, pneumatic conveying process and troubleshooting, chilled water systems, and grinding equipment. Ability to use a multimeter for electrical troubleshooting. General facilities maintenance experience. Associates degree or credits from a technical college preferred, with a focus in the areas of mechanical, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, or pneumatic systems repair. Successful completion of high school, or equivalent Bilingual is a plus

Physical Demands:The employee in this role will be primarily standing while performing assigned duties. There will also be frequent walking involved, as well as the use of hands to handle and feel. The employee will be required to have coordination and manual dexterity to safely operate overhead cranes, among other equipment. The employee will be required to reach with their hands and arms, occasionally balance or climb, and stoop as necessary. Additionally, the employee will need to have the ability to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. This job requires specific vision abilities, including close vision for performing detailed tasks, distance vision to see objects clearly at a further distance, and peripheral vision to be aware of surroundings. These vision abilities, among others, are essential to successfully carry out the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
