Description: The duties of a Senior Computer Services Assistant involve thorough knowledge of personal computers; Windows Server 2012, Active Directory, Group Policy, Current/Older Version of Windows, Microsoft Office, Google Apps; manage Internet/content filtering; day to day helpdesk user support for any computer/software -related questions or issues; setup, manage 1:1 chrome books; knowledge of the operation of external hardware; ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions; ability to understand complex written and oral instructions and technical documentation and attention to detail.

This is a NYS Civil Service position that will be provisionally appointed pending civil service examination and eligibility.

Job Qualifications

Education & Experience (must meet one of the following):

Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 2+ years of IT experience.

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Three years of experience, gained within the past five years, which involved the resolution of software and hardware problems associated with networked computers, networked peripherals and/or network operating systems.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

Expertise in networking, systems administration, and user support.

Proficiency with cloud services, network security, and data privacy.

Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
