Walsh County is seeking applications for the Payroll and Benefits Specialist within the Auditor/Treasurers office.

This position is responsible for administering the payroll and benefits programs for the County with an emphasis on skills related to accounting, finance and a strong attention to details. Work is performed under the general direction of the Auditor/Treasurer, including but not limited to all payroll-related tasks including benefits enrollment, employee onboarding and assisting with other daily, weekly, monthly and annual office functions in the Auditor/Treasurer office

Candidates

must have a proven track record of being proficient and accurate with numbers and professional and courteous in their interpersonal relations. A background in finance, business, administrative support or accounting is required, with a strong preference for someone who has previous experience with payroll and benefits processing (Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred). Under the combined Auditor/Treasurer offices this position will work closely with other staff in that office and may assist with a multitude of miscellaneous county projects.
