This a part time position working 28 hours a week. Monday and Fridays 8-5 with hour lunch, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday working 8-12. Hourly rate is to be determined.

Job Description

Collects funds for the water and sewer division of the village. Maintains department accounting and finance records. Prints an audit of monthly receipts and deposits for review by council or appointed committee. Receives requests, complaints, and information from the public and transmits them to the appropriate person. Sets up and operates the office computer system for accounting information, records cash receipts including coding and verifying receipts and entering the receipts in the computer system. Types vouchers, code bills, and @types an account payable list for the village. Calculates, records, mails and collect bills for water and sewer, and sends out shut off notices. Reconciles bank statements and deposits. Deposits water and sewer payments to the bank. Perform other duties as apparent and/or as delegated by the Village Administrator or Village Council.

Preferred Qualifications Considerable knowledge of basic accounting and billing practices and procedures.

Good communications with employer.

Considerable knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment including, but not limited to the operation of a personal computer.

General knowledge of payroll practices and procedures.

The ability to communicate effectively with village council and any other village official as required by law.

The ability to prepare financial reports and maintain accurate records.

The ability to prioritize their work within their schedule.

General ledger accounting and/or bookkeeping experience is beneficial.

Working knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations affecting the village

Be available to attend all state required classes/traing and attend all council meetings.
