Job Description:

Uvalde Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Computer Systems Analyst. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our healthcare technology systems, ensuring our medical staff have the tools they need to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

System Evaluation and Analysis:

Assess current IT systems and their alignment with hospital operations.

Identify areas for improvement and recommend optimal solutions to enhance system performance and user experience.

System Design and Development:

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to design system specifications that meet clinical and administrative needs.

Develop and implement new applications and systems, ensuring integration with existing technologies.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

Provide technical support to end-users, resolving issues promptly to minimize disruption to hospital operations.

Troubleshoot system problems and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence.

Data Management:

Oversee data management processes, ensuring data integrity and security.

Develop and maintain databases, ensuring accurate and efficient data retrieval and reporting.

Training and Documentation:

Develop and conduct training sessions for staff to enhance their use of IT systems.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.

Vendor Coordination:

Work with external vendors to implement and maintain technology solutions.

Evaluate vendor proposals and make recommendations based on hospital needs and budget constraints.

Project Management:

Lead technology projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.

Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met.

Compliance and Security:

Ensure all systems comply with healthcare regulations and standards such as HIPAA.

Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive patient information.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Computer Systems Analyst, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Strong understanding of hospital operations and healthcare information systems.

Proficiency in system analysis, data management, and IT project management.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Desirable Skills:

Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and standards.

Familiarity with programming languages and database management.
