Utah Housing Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Bond Accountant to join our finance team and help ensure the financial integrity of our organization.

This full-time position is based in West Valley City. The starting annual pay for this role is $65,000-$78,000 depending on experience.

The Bond Accountant manages all aspects of bond-related accounting and compliance and is responsible for accurately recording, tracking, and reconciling investments and debt associated with bonds, ensuring compliance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) guidelines and all debt covenant and regulatory requirements.

The role involves maintaining detailed records using accounting systems and specialized bond tracking software, overseeing trustee cash management activity, and maintaining amortization schedules for bond premiums, discounts, and issuance costs. The Bond Accountant will also coordinate the setup and tracking of new bond issues, prepare and post journal entries, and resolve discrepancies.

This position ensures timely compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements, supports the preparation of financial statements and disclosures, and provides audit support. The Bond Accountant will analyze financial data, assist with reporting for housing development and debt-financed projects, and perform routine accounting functions such as reconciliations, transfers, and payments.

We are looking for candidates with a bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field and three to five years of professional accounting experience, preferably in public finance or bond accounting. Knowledge of GASB standards, public-sector accounting practices, financial software, spreadsheets, and reconciliation techniques is essential. We seek candidates who demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a collaborative working style.
