Position Summary:

The University of Northwestern Ohio is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to support the Business Office by managing and processing outgoing payments. This position is responsible for entering invoices, processing vouchers, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring accurate and timely payment processing. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with strong data entry and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner

Enter and process vouchers within the financial system

Verify and enter vendor invoices for payment

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies

Communicate with vendors and university departments regarding payment questions or issues

Maintain and update vendor records and documentation

Support the Business Office with general administrative and accounting tasks

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Purchasing

Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in Accounting or related experience required

Understanding of accounts payable principles and processes

Strong data entry and attention to detail

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments

Work Environment / Reporting:

Reports directly to the Director of Purchasing

Works as part of the University Business Office team

This position does not supervise staff
