Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant is a new construction that has the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. This $2.3 billion investment is among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells produces battery cells for General Motors' North American electric vehicle applications.

This is an onsite position.

Job Description:

Ultium Cells is looking for an individual who has a strong passion for accounting, product cost, and understanding the economic and business impacts of business transactions. The candidate will work closely with FP&A, Internal Controls, Treasury teams, and other cross-functional partners to support production and sales regarding the financial performance of the company. The role will dig into complex datasets to analyze trends and translate them into actionable insights for continuous process/profitability improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support corporate audits and the external auditor testing

Oversee all journal entries, accounting, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities

Assist in month-end procedures and produce accurate & timely reports.

Responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for assigned functional areas

Establish standard product costing drivers to be integrated into the SAP system; streamline and optimize methods

Perform inventory control measures to be analyzed and optimized

Assist in half year-end and year-end additional procedures; include physical inventory

Work with the FP&A team for consolidation and reporting of actuals

Serve as accounting subject matter expert on a variety of cross-functional activities

Prepare ad hoc analysis and report as directed or projects as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

3+ years of experience in corporate finance and/or financial analysis

Advanced MS Excel skills

Strong analytical, financial modeling, and reporting skills

Excellent time management and organizational ability

Strong communication and presentation skills

Attention to detail

Bilingual in English and Korean highly preferred

Must be able to speak and read English

Knowledge of the manufacturing industry is a plus

SAP experience preferred
