SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, maintains case files.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other related duties shall be assigned, as needed.

45% Receives and files all divorce, dissolution, domestic violence and reciprocal pleadings in all domestic case files. Pulls files for the Judges' and Magistrates' daily hearings and maintains an in/out card for each file removed and enters in case management tracking in computer. Pulls files and docket sheets as per Court Hearing Schedule and delivers and returns Motions and Journals to Judges for signature.

20% Calculates Court Costs for all Domestic Case Types (i.e. Divorce, Dissolution, Reciprocal, etc.); Prepares and mails Cost Bill Statements for parties after closed disposition. Cost Statements are submitted to bookkeeper by month's end for previous month.

20% Answers telephones and waits on customers at counter, which includes filing new cases, motions, subpoenas and collecting court costs. Provides copies of divorce/dissolution papers upon request; distributes attorneys mail to the proper mailboxes at the Family Court.

15% Researches and sends requested information received in the mail (i.e. copies of final divorce papers); takes mail and money to the Courthouse daily, gets supplies from main Courthouse, distributes papers to the Sheriff's Department box at Courthouse.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:** High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Individual should be computer literate and have keyboard skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:** Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effective before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
