Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse, Level 1 to join our interdisciplinary health care team. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Level 1 RN will provide the highest quality of care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist providers in delivering patient care and explain procedures and treatments to patients.

Aid providers during examinations and treatments and observe and record patient reactions/conditions.

Work with the interdisciplinary health care team to facilitate and keep patients engaged in their care.

Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and demonstrate positive communication and teamwork.

Triage daily patient-related telephone calls, administer treatments, nursing interventions, injections, and immunizations.

Educate patients on self-injection, new medications, or other treatments.

Participate in QA/QI activities and demonstrate excellence in communication, professionalism, stress management, and teamwork.

Perform duties of Medical Office Assistant and/or LPN as needed, including taking vitals, updating patient information, and collecting samples.

Flex as needed to cover nursing absences and participate in nursing On-Call rotation.

Practice within the NYS RN scope of practice and maintain annual competencies.

Documentation:

Document all patient cares clearly, thoroughly, accurately, and timely. Maintain an ongoing list of patients' preventative care needs and complete documentation requirements per policy.

Administrative:

Serve as a resource for nursing teammates relative to documentation best practices.

Seek out opportunities to enhance education by attending nursing or cross-department in-services and completing continuing education credits.

Miscellaneous:

Respect and support inclusiveness and diversity.

Maintain confidentiality of all patients, clients, employees, protected, and proprietary information.

Participate in compliance audits, process improvement, and quality improvement plans.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must possess a valid NYS RN license.

Previous experience working in a hospital or clinic setting required.

Knowledge of HIV/AIDS is extremely helpful.

Excellent written/oral communication and computer skills are required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

Occasionally stoop, bend, and lift or move up to 25 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
