Total Asphalt Paving is looking to fill 5 Construction Laborers positions in Macomb County, MI. This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position and we are looking to fill 5 job openings for employment from 10/1/2026 to 11/30/2026.

Additional Worksites: Worksites are in Macomb, Wayne, Genesee, Oakland, Lenawee, Livingston, Lapeer, & St Clair counties in Michigan.

Job Description:

Duties: Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Assist with setting forms and preparing worksite for concrete pours. May operate hand and power tools of all @types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, concrete saws, mixers, vibrators, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Load & unload tools, sweeping, raking, tamping, shoveling. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers and tradesmen with various tasks. Perform other labor-related duties as needed. Workers may assist other craft workers, by preparing worksites; gathering, loading, unloading, and transporting tools, materials, and equipment; cleaning work areas; and performing manual labor tasks associated with construction projects. Workers may use common hand tools and basic power tools including shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, brooms, drills, compactors, levels, and measuring tools. Materials handled may include lumber, concrete forms, gravel, sand, cement, concrete, rebar, pipes, and other common construction materials. Workers may operate basic measuring and layout equipment, including measuring tapes, laser levels, grade rods, and string lines, to assist supervisors and other construction personnel with measuring distances, checking grades, and marking work areas.

Requirements:

Post Hire Drug screen at employer's expense. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive pushing/pulling, extensive walking, frequent stooping, exposure to extreme temperatures.

Terms & Conditions of Employment:*

$26.26/hr., at 40 hours a week, Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (schedule varies). Overtime rate of pay is at least $39.39per hour. Overtime will be available as needed. Higher pay and/or other incentives based on performance.

In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business.

Inbound Transportation:

Transportation: From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the U.S or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment of transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of employment.

Outbound Transportation:

Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.

Daily Transportation:*

Employers will provide daily transportation to and from worksites.
