Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Floating Teaching Assistant to join our team and support our educational programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children of all abilities and assisting in their development. The start date of this job is August 2026.

Duties

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom

Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities

Help manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment

Work with students with special needs, including those with autism or requiring special education

Understand basic child development and support children's learning

Meet daily care needs of children, including diapering, feeding, and medication administration

Engage in playful, developmentally appropriate interactions with children

Supervise groups of 5-10 children

Adhere to program policies, maintain confidentiality, and uphold NAEYC and licensing standards

Demonstrate professionalism through communication, teamwork, and continuous learning

Requirements

Previous experience in childcare, preschool, or early childhood education is preferred

Knowledge of behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies

Ability to work effectively with students with special needs

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the classroom

Move and remain upright for extended periods

Interact with children at their level (e.g., sitting on the floor or at a table)

Lift and carry children (up to 40 pounds)

Crouch, lean, and assist with cleaning, diapering, and other physical tasks

Respond calmly in emergencies

Be open to feedback and dedicated to lifelong learning
