Description of Duties:

This is a grant funded position. -Analysis of developmental trajectories of brain functioning data (EEG, MRI neuropsychological task), alongside traumatic stress data and related clinial (e.g., PTSD, substance use disorders) and genomic data from the Collaborative Study on the Genetics of Alcoholism (COGA) -Develop implement and publish research manuscripts using the longitudinal data, with a focus on how early experiences of traumatic stress impact brain functioning and downstream risk for mental health problems and substance misuse across the lifespan. -Intergrate findings from this research study with external datasets in the department and in the field (e.g., Millions Veterans Program, Psychiatric Genomics Consortium, UK Biobank, NESARC). -Develop, implement, and submit NIH and DOD grant proposals proposals to fund research studies that followup on findings from current work.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED: PhD in a 'neuropsychiatric genomics' related field (e.g., epidemiology, psychology, neuroscience, genomics, biostatistics); Must have both the technical skills necessary for the project (e.g., experience with longitudinal data analysis) and the interest in working collaboratively with cross-disciplinary investigators (neuroscience, genomics, epidemiology, psychiatry, developmental psychology). Well-developed written communucation skills (e.g., ability to lead manuscripts) are required, as is the ability to work independently. Able to multi-task, problem solve, and manage time/work load. PREFERRED: Content expertise within one of the following areas is preferred: traumatic stress, PTSD, substance use disorders, genomics, neurodevelopment, longitudinal data analysis methods.
