PPC is the private credit investment business of PGIM, Inc., the global investment management business of Prudential Financial, Inc. PPCs Law department currently has 15 attorneys and is part of Prudentials Law, Compliance, Business Ethics and External Affairs department.

PGIM Private Capital (PPC) Law has an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic global investment management business. We are seeking an experienced lawyer to primarily support PPC business units focusing on domestic and international finance and investment transactions in power, oil and gas, and infrastructure projects.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires on-site presence on a reoccurring weekly basis as determined by the business. The successful candidate will preferably work from a PPC office located in Newark, NJ, New York, NY or Dallas, TX, , but we will consider candidates able to work from PPC office locations in Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN, Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA. We will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

Structuring, negotiating and supervising the documentation of project, infrastructure, oil and gas, power and corporate finance transactions involving senior and mezzanine debt and/or equity, many of which are highly structured, highly leveraged or both.

Serving as a strategic partner for PPC businesses in support of building and managing a varied investment portfolio.

Building professional and working relationships with the leadership team and key stakeholders.

Managing outside counsel.

Tracking and monitoring regulatory trends that will have a meaningful impact on the business and strategizing with PPC management on appropriate actions.

What you'll need:

6+ years of experience in project, oil and gas, power and/or infrastructure finance transactions, preferably with a major law firm or major financial institution

Experience with US or international representation of lenders, developers, sponsors or investors in power project or infrastructure financings and representation of lenders, investors or producers in oil and gas financings

Expertise in drafting and negotiating financing agreements, credit support documents, intercreditor agreements and closing documentation.

Prior experience representing (as inside or outside counsel) insurance companies, banks or other institutional investors in project finance transactions will be a definite advantage.

Cross border/international experience will be a definite advantage.

Familiarity or prior experience with the federal securities law and secured/structured investments

Willingness and ability to work effectively with demanding PPC clients, borrowers and equity sponsors, outside counsel and other institutional investors, as well as colleagues across the Prudential enterprise, is critical.

Demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to work well in an environment where coordination and teamwork with legal and business associates is a priority.

You must be admitted to practice law in New Jersey or another U.S. state. If you do not have a plenary license to practice law in New Jersey, you must apply for a New Jersey In-House Counsel license within 60 days of employment

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $216,000.00 to $292,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
