Description

To assist the City Auditor's Department in wide-ranging matters of financial, accounting, and office activities. This position will be responsible for providing additional support to various members of the Auditor's Department.

Examples of Duties

Assist with various reconciliations (revenue/expense, investments/cash, EMS billing, general ledger, etc.)

Assist departments and Auditor with a broad range of accounting disciplines (budgeting, vendor services, accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, pay-ins, payroll processing etc.)

Assist and maintain year-end closing processes as well as yearly statements for annual reporting requirements (ACFR, GASB, etc.) along with maintaining other departmental records

Interacts with vendors, financial institutions, and the public

Other related duties as required

Typical Qualifications

Valid OH Driver's License

Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business, similar related discipline, and/or equivalent experience

Knowledge of accounting practices and principles

Knowledge of IRS Guidelines

Above average computer literacy to include MS Office Suite as well as E-Gov Solutions (New World, Tyler, NEOGOV, etc.)

Excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills
