Position Summary : Works with other members of the accounting team to perform various accounting functions accurately, timely and efficiently, using computerized systems. Such functions include processing payrolls, producing billing in a multitude of different formats, processing invoices, and obtaining and maintaining maximum entitlement benefits for the individuals we support. Maintains documentation of current procedures and constantly look for ways to improve processes. Performs analysis of expenses, revenue and payroll as needed to ensure accurate reporting. Supports the mission of The Arc of Opportunity by providing reports and other necessary information to other departments as needed

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (40 hr/week)

Skills and Competencies:

Attention to detail to ensure accuracy when preparing, processing and submitting billing, payroll, payables and entitlements as well as monitoring outstanding receivables and payables

Organizational Skills to ensure all functions are completed as soon as possible and maintaining a filing system to ensure easy access to records

Time management to handle multiple tasks as quickly and efficiently as possible, as well as a quick response to special requests for reports and analysis as needed

Problem solving skills to best resolve issues quickly and efficiently

Critical and analytical thinking to find mathematical mistakes, identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions and perform cost benefit analysis of potential actions

Accuracy during preparation and data entry to ensure correctness

Communication skills both verbal and written to convey information to others in a clear and concise way

Knowledge of database structure and report writing to produce reports in response to questions from other departments

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Flexibility to perform other duties as required

Qualifications : A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record and background checks are required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity.

Associate's Degree in Business Administration

Or HS Diploma/equivalent & 2 years relevant experience

Proficiency with computerized accounting systems

Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
