Position Summary:

The Construction Instructor will be responsible for teaching the NCCER CORE curriculum to students in a classroom and hands-on workshop setting. The instructor will guide students through fundamental construction skills, ensuring they gain a comprehensive understanding of the core concepts and practical applications. This role requires a combination of industry experience, teaching skills, and a commitment to student success.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver the NCCER CORE curriculum to students, including modules on Basic Safety, Introduction to Construction Math, Introduction to Hand Tools, Introduction to Power Tools and Construction Drawings.

Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that align with NCCER standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.

Provide hands-on training and demonstrations in the use of tools and equipment.

Assess student progress through practical evaluations, written exams, and classroom participation.

Maintain a safe and conducive learning environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

Collaborate with colleagues and administration to continuously improve the curriculum and teaching methods.

Stay current with industry trends and NCCER curriculum updates.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in construction-related field preferred.

NCCER certification as an instructor or the ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe. Teach by Tech will provide training and cover the costs for obtaining the necessary NCCER credentials within a specified timeframe.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction industry.

Prior teaching or training experience preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work with a diverse student population.

Proficiency in using instructional technology and tools.
