Talent Reach is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with biotech and diagnostics organizations to automate lab workflows and accelerate scientific operations. This role blends hands-on software engineering with customer interaction, building Python-based integrations, APIs, and automation pipelines while partnering with scientists and lab managers to understand their workflows, launch deployments, train users, and continuously iterate based on feedback.

Responsibilities

Work directly with scientists, lab managers, and IT teams to understand workflow bottlenecks and automation needs

Build technical integrations using Python, REST APIs, webhooks, scripting, and cloud services

Configure high-throughput workflows across instruments, robots, LIMS/ELN/ERPs, and other lab systems

Design data models and pipelines that transform raw lab output into structured and queryable datasets

Deploy and support customer solutions, ensuring scalability, security, compliance, and performance

Launch customer onboarding, run training sessions, and iterate quickly from feedback and real-world usage

Share customer insights with Product & Engineering and contribute reusable components to the core platform

Qualifications

5+ years implementing or supporting LIMS or laboratory software in biotech/pharma/diagnostics

Strong Python development and API integration experience (REST/webhooks/JSON/auth)

Hands-on experience configuring LIMS workflows, ETL/ELT pipelines, and SQL/NoSQL data stores

Experience integrating instruments, robotics, or high-throughput automation (preferred)

Familiarity with compliance requirements (e.g., GLP/GxP, CLIA, 21 CFR Part 11)

Exposure to AI/LLM automation or automation-driven tooling (a plus, not required)

Experience in customer-facing delivery, gathering requirements through deployment and training

Strong communication skills with the ability to work in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
