Emergency Management/911/Veterans

Full-time position: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Additional work hours may be required on occasion as job duties demand and/or to allow for travel and training at off-site locations.

Brief description of job duties: Provide advanced administrative support and serve as the first point-of-contact for the Stutsman County Emergency Management/9-1-1/Communications Center and Veterans Service Offices regarding telephone and in-person inquiries. Responsible for administering assistance to the department, employees and members of the general public by referring questions to the proper source of information, processing a variety of administrative forms and maintaining files. Provide back-up administration to both offices in department head(s) absence(s).

Minimum experience and/or training requirements: Position requires a minimum of a two year post high school education in business administration or bookkeeping/accounting plus two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience at time of hire. Must be able to complete state and federal emergency management training; Training, Responsibility, Involvement and Preparation of Claims (TRIP) Certification and other accredited training as required. Knowledge of effectively working with the public, computer experience, bookkeeping/accounting, spreadsheets, databases and maintaining accurate records is important.

Classification / Salary: Grade 10 / $4,180.73 - $4,392.38 monthly plus benefit package
