TITLE: Software Engineer

EMPLOYER: Stripe, Inc.

DUTIES: Debug and fix production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack and participate in on-call rotations. Develop scalable distributed systems to support Stripe's internal service mesh and service discovery solutions, in order to support other engineering teams in fulfilling business goals for Stripe and its partners; Design, implement, deploy, and maintain Stripe's cloud-based networks including layer 3 networks up to layer 7 networking proxies; Participate in all parts of the software development workflow and see the projects through to completion, including their large-scale deployment; Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes; Participate in and lead roadmap planning/prioritization; Mentor fellow engineers to spread knowledge across the team.

LOCATION: Seattle, WA (and various unanticipated work locations across the U.S.)

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related and 1 year of Software development experience

Position requires the following:

1 year of experience building software solutions in Go, Java, Python, Ruby, or similar;

1 year of experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable systems;

1 year of experience translating business needs into software requirements and designs;

1 year of experience debugging production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack; and

1 year of experience with distributed systems.

SALARY: $175,893 - $185,893/year and standard employee benefits.
