Position Overview

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is pleased to announce an opening for a Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) for the Forensic Units AFC, evening shift at Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois. The Alton Mental Health Center is seeking to hire an energetic and detail-oriented licensed Registered Nurse to direct and oversee para-professional and non-professional nursing personnel, assuring that general health and nursing care needs are met for our patients. Alton Mental Health Center strives to provide equitable access to social/human services, supports, programs and resources to enhance the lives of all who we serve.

Essential Functions

Serves as Clinical Nurse Manager for the Forensic Units AFC for the

evening shift.

Serves as full-line supervisor.

Provides recommendations to the DON in the development of policies

and procedures.

Evaluates patient services by conducting ongoing audits (e.g.

performance improvement) of services provided in adherence to established goals and standards.

Provides professional nursing services to patients including new

admissions, administering medications, giving shots, taking medical histories, etc.

Develops a plan to implement alternatives to restraint/seclusion

which outlines the roles and responsibilities of program staff.

Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably

within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
