Job Purpose: Meets students' physical, emotional, and social needs by promoting and providing healthy practices. Duties:

Develops student health program by identifying and coordinating requirements with administrators and physicians; adhering to and enforcing school board policy; conferring with community agencies.

Promotes health care by publicizing health issues and preventive measures; providing information and resources; counseling students; presenting seminars and training.

Evaluates health status by conducting individual examinations and assessments.

Treats medical problems by rendering first aid, stabilizing ill or injured persons, and arranging for emergency treatment.

Keeps parents/guardians informed by providing information and advice.

Completes reports by entering required information.

Maintains student confidence by keeping information confidential.

Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.

Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

Maintains a safe and healthy environment by enforcing organization standards and legal regulations.

Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective action.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
