POSITION SUMMARY: This position provides daily carpentry maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance and repairs, including correcting safety hazards, in the Southern Ute Tribal Buildings**.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

Responsible for fulfilling work order requests for all Southern Ute Permanent Fund Facilities to include repairing and replacing locks, doors, and mechanical and electrical locking devices.

Performs various construction and carpentry duties, to include framing, painting, sheetrock, stucco repair, concrete work, and general maintenance of buildings.

Performs measurements, designs, and implements plans for projects, office modifications and remodels with approval of supervisor.

Performs repairs and replaces roofs and floors as needed.

Performs interior and exterior modifications to buildings and offices.

Performs concrete forming, pouring and finish work.

Responsible for the care and maintenance of hand and power tools and other equipment used on the job and projects, Operating them in a safe manner.

Responsible for learning and keeping up to date on warranty and product information on equipment and mechanical devices.

Establishes and maintains working relationships with vendors, technical support companies, contractors, and parts suppliers.

Assists other Departments and Divisions with carpentry when required or requested.

Follows all safety and security regulations while performing work within Permanent Fund Facilities.

Identifies and reports any damaged or unsafe conditions in offices and buildings, including damaged or lost equipment, to supervisor immediately.

Attends all staff meetings and trainings as required.

Participates in a positive, supportive, and team-oriented environment. Cross trains to assist other Building Maintenance employees when needed.

Performs work in a professional and timely manner and in accordance with Southern Ute Indian Tribe Permanent Fund Policies and Procedures.

Maintains high standards of quality and productivity for the department.

Responds promptly to off hour emergency calls when assigned to On-Call Status.

Performs additional duties as required or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have reading and math skills at a 9th grade level.

Must have 4 years of carpentry experience.

Must have 1 year of remodeling experience.

Must have 1 year of Building Maintenance experience.

Must have experience using hand and power tools applicable to trade.

Must have experience reading and working with blueprints and schematics.

Must be able to report to off -hour emergencies within 45 minutes of notification.

Must have a valid Driver's license for state of residency and be insurable under the Tribal vehicle insurance policy.

Must pass a thorough background check including Criminal History, fingerprint check, and pre-employment drug test.
