Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the mail delivery clerk gathers the inserted mail, meters the single pieces and sends the electronic postage statements to the post office. In addition, the completed mail is delivered to the post office in a truck. This work is in a fast-paced production environment where timelines are dependent on service agreements.

Duties:

Manage the metering and delivery of mail to the post office.

Carefully set up and operate the postage meter.

Strong attention to detail for quality review of processed materials.

Routine maintenance of equipment is often required.

Assist in the management of the inventory of paper products and printer supplies.

Act as a back-up for the other production jobs as training is completed.

Train and coach others on the operation of the meter and associated tasks.

Drive the mail truck to the post office.

Operate forklift as needed to move materials in warehouse.

Perform other manual and repetitive tasks in support of the business.

Accountability:

Strictly observe safety and housekeeping practices.

Maintain a strict level of confidentiality with the customer information by following the SmartBill information security policy.

Complete assignments promptly and correctly, while working independently.

Establish priorities and meet needs and deadlines of business.

Participate in mandatory overtime as determined by the business cycle.

Training and Experience:

Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record.

Must possess a confident and strong ability to understand potential production problems as they occur.

Exhibit strong initiative, excellent problem-solving skills, good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects

Good human relation skills are required; must be a team player and be able to interact effectively with a variety of people including the ability to communicate technical information and recommendations to co-workers and management.

Must have a basic working knowledge of windows-based computers including word processing and spreadsheet programs to assemble information.

Must be well organized, have a clean appearance and friendly manner.

Should be able to lift 50 pounds and spend most of the day standing on a concrete floor.

If a skill is required which is beyond the basic requirements, training will be provided by SmartBill.

Training in operating a forklift a plus not required. Training/Certification completed upon hire.

Forklift/Paper Clamp Operator: 1 year (Preferred)
