Registrar and Finance Office Assistant Classified Staff Opening Board of Education Office 12 Months

General Summary:These individuals respond to inquiries from the public, either in person or on the telephone, and maintain records in accordance with district policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

Maintains a variety of files, documents and student records for the purpose of documenting and/or providing reliable information relative to student records.

Processes requests from students, colleges/universities, and employment agencies for the purpose of providing required information such as transcripts

Comply with student record-keeping retention and destruction as required by law.

Maintain an organized Records Storage Building where hardcopy files are kept.

Back up building receptionist on multi-line telephone.

Serve as mailroom clerk-Primary contact for Pitney Bowes

Responsible for insurance bank account reconciliation

Responsible for purchase card reconciliation

Collect retiree health insurance payment and maintain a ledger of payments received.

Assist in Food Service data management and reporting.

Assist other business office staff as needed.

Various other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.

Excellent organizational skills, oral and written skills, time management, good attendance record and telephone skills

Professional and friendly customer service skills

Ability to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets and reports.

Ability to learn and navigate accounting software.

Adept at using various office machines and computer equipment.

Some typing ability.

**Qualifications: Education:High School Diploma Experience desired:Wide range of clerical experience and some degree of accounting experience(School setting experience preferred, but not required). Other requirements:Must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the Board of Education. Excellent organizational skills, oral and written skills, time management, and telephone skills. Computer knowledge and assistive technology.
