GENERAL FUNCTION:

Person in this position assists in providing direct services offered through Island Cove Adult Day Program.

Works with clients in maintaining care plans, appointments with doctors and follow up.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist participants with personal care such as eating, dressing and toileting.

Helps participants access and exit facility (coats, boots, getting on and off vans, etc.)

Assists with program activities which include preparation of meals, snacks, and interaction with participants

Orders groceries for snacks and weekend menus.

Works as a team member in implementing care plan goals for each participant.

Reports additional client needs, problems and concerns to Deputy Director or Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Maintains daily participant records.

Maintains case records as directed incorporating accepted practices of confidentiality and informed consent.

Oversees monthly weight and vital signs.

Updates medication lists in adult day program files as needed with Deputy Director.

Other related duties as assigned by Deputy Director.

Must have current CNA license issued by the State of Alaska.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Person in this position must have current Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) license from the State of Alaska.

Must have experience in good record keeping, be self-motivated, dependable, organized and have previous experience with senior population, disabled or handicapped person or related services.

Must be in good physical condition, be able to relate to public, staff, community, professionals and program participants and their families in a pleasant and tactful manner.

Must have genuine concern for participants and their needs.

Must be CPR and First Aid certified.

Must have Alaska drivers license with good driving record.

HOURS OF WORK:

Hours of work preferred by employer are from 10:00am - 2:00pm Monday - Friday.
