The Customer Service Specialist responds to all customer inquiries and reporting requirements, completing daily order management (open order status/expedites/de-expedites), addressing shipping & logistics concerns, coordinating quoting & pricing, ensuring ERP system compliance, addressing customer concerns & problem solving.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (5 - 8 key accountabilities or functions performed by position.)

Enters and manages all activity associated with incoming customer purchase orders via EDI, or manual order entry to ensure contracts are met and all relevant data is accurate & entered into the ERP system in a timely manner

Creates accurate and timely customer quote requests for quotes and orders received through multiple channels of communication

Coordinates with the operations team to determine accurate ship dates including the handling of expedites, de-expedites, cancelations and open order status reports to keep the customer informed on the status of their orders

Coordinates and resolves all logistics issues including resolution on lost or damaged shipments, quoting and scheduling expedited shipments including maintain the logistics database & all shipping instructions in customer note files as it pertains to customer service

Creates specifications for new items/updates older specifications on an as-needed basis

Performs back-up activities for other markets & customer accounts as required

Consult with sales on commercial and technical issues as required

Assist customers with accurate transactions and CPG Industry specific product information

Build and expand customer relationships and help ensure replacement and increased business

Assist in warehouse as needed, including inventory counts and movement

Performs other related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: (Identify the basic qualifications which are required to perform this role at a satisfactory level.)

Minimum of 3 years' experience in Customer Service or in a support capacity role

Customer Service skills

Production planning and logistics experience and/or exposure

Advanced knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems

Good at math, statistics and attention to detail

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Excellent negotiation and communication abilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with CRM, MRP/ERP System, order management

Confidence, patience, politeness, tact when dealing with difficult situations

A team player that can handle pressure, multitask and prioritize tasks with the flexibility to handle changing priorities

Commitment to improve personal customer service skills on an ongoing basis
