Overview:

Roger Powell Trucking, LLC is currently seeking

CDL A and B Drivers

to join our team for the asphalt season in

St. Joseph, MO

Duties and Responsibilities:

This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.

Perform duties necessary in building state and local roadways, driveways, parking lots, etc.

Operating and maneuvering a commercial motor vehicle

Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues.

Following traffic laws and correctly following the right route.

Ensuring the safety of the load and the vehicle.

Hauling asphalt and material from plants to jobsites or dumpsites.

Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be able to work non-traditional hours.

Must be able to work with hot asphalt.

Must work well with others.

Must be able to drive manual transmission trucks.

Class A or B CDL required.

Must have your CDL for a minimum of 2 years.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.

Maintain a valid drivers license and endorsements as required per position.

This position requires you to pass and maintain a DOT medical evaluation to drive a Roger Powell Trucking, LLC commercial vehicle.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this role. This position will be physically demanding at times. This is a non-exhaustive overview of the physical requirements of this job.

Able to walk on uneven surfaces.

Must be able to be aware of surroundings and follow verbal commands while being exposed to moderately loud noises on a daily basis.

Work in a confined access/space environment with a width of 24 inches.

Able to work in a safety sensitive work environment.

While seated, frequently look over left and right shoulders with 180 degrees of movement.

Safety:

Road Safety

The driver will understand and obey all DOT and Traffic Laws

The driver understands that they operate a heavy piece of equipment and will operate the equipment in a controlled manner to ensure that they and other people on the road go home safe.

Property Safety

The driver will ensure that Roger Powell Trucking, LLC and provider property is treated well and safely.

The driver will document and communicate maintenance issues on pre-trip/post-trip checklists and when relevant before the shift is over to their supervisor.

Team Player

The driver will be expected to be a team player and help Roger Powell Trucking, LLC staff as they work to accomplish their various initiatives.

Flexibility

The Delivery driver will be expected to show flexibility in the @type of vehicle they drive and the @type of deliveries that they will make.

The Delivery driver will be expected to work with a semi-shifting schedule including start/end time and days worked.
