NY1682674 Maintenance Assistant (Full Time) needed at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam NY.

River Ridge Living Center, a 120-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, is seeking a dependable, skilled, and motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our Facilities Department. In this role, you will help ensure our building, grounds, and equipment are safe, clean, and well maintained for our residents, visitors, and staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with general maintenance experience who enjoys working in a healthcare environment and takes pride in keeping facilities operating efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of building systems, equipment, and facility infrastructure.

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and ceiling tile replacement.

Replace light bulbs, fixtures, plumbing components, fire extinguishers, and other building equipment as needed.

Complete preventive maintenance assignments and respond promptly to maintenance requests.

Receive, transport, and distribute supplies, furniture, equipment, and materials throughout the facility.

Move office furniture, medical equipment, and other items safely within the building.

Conduct routine facility inspections and report maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Director.

Create or recommend work orders for repairs requiring additional attention.

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.

Assist with grounds maintenance, including snow removal, ice control, and general exterior upkeep.

Follow all OSHA, life safety, fire safety, infection prevention, and facility policies.

Participate in an on-call, weekend, and holiday rotation as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required.

Previous maintenance experience in a healthcare facility, nursing home, hospital, apartment complex, hotel, or commercial building preferred.

Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.

Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work, including standing, climbing ladders, bending, and working indoors and outdoors.

Dependable with excellent attendance and a positive attitude.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

PAY: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour, based on experience
